The approach I have chosen to use is written comment. I choose
this approach to mark my students’ essays as I find out this method is
effective as majority of my students can learn something through this
integrating written comment approach to their writing classes.
The comments for the student’s essay will be written down and I
will ask them to see me if it’s necessary for me to explain more further and
details about their mistakes. When I used to be a high school student, my
teacher applied this approach to our class and most of us find out that this
way is effective and not time consuming as our teacher needs no to explain our
essays one by one. Besides that, we can learn more from there. The comments are
written and we will be asked to do corrections for the essays. After the
corrections, we will submit our work to our teacher to assure that we are not
doing the same mistakes again.
The comments that I have written to the essay that I have marked
are as below:\
1. The statements are quite clear.
2. Need to be careful with the use of ‘a’.
3. Use past tense for whole essay when the
starting is in past tense form.
4. Use plural verbs after the plural nouns.
5. Please check the spellings. Whether it’s
‘feeled’ or ‘felt’.
In
order to let student understand more about their mistakes,
I
